You can Collect Visitor Feedback & Share (Easily) Afterwards with the Seller...

Collecting Visitor Feedback can work two different ways.  If a Visitor is signing in AFTER they view the house you can collect Feedback at the same time.  If the Visitor has already signed-in you can pull up their details (after they tour the property) and then allow them to add feedback.

If you are using an Ipad for your Open House Sign-ins, here is how to use it successfully at the Open House.

1st of All, you need a data or Internet connection. If your Ipad has built-in data service from a carrier such as Verizon, Sprint or any other then you are good to go. If not, check out our Data Connection Tips page for information on how you can get a data or Internet connection on your Ipad.

2nd of all we also highly recommend using an external keyboard for Ipads and other tablet devices. It makes the Open House Sign-in experience much easier and professional for your visitors. For information on using an external keyboard checkout our tips page here.

The 3rd item we would mention here is that you also need to have an Open House Wizard Account. If you do not have one, click here to purchase.

Ok you get all of that, now its time to talk about using your Ipad to run the Open House Sign-ins!

At the Open House, find a good spot to place and position your Ipad for convenient access by Visitors.

Ipad Tips & Tricks - Making the Address Bar in Safari at the Top Smaller

While using an Ipad for your Open House Sign-ins you may have noticed the address bar at the top in Safari is sometimes bigger than others.

You can also remove the Address Bar totally and go FULL Screen, to do that instead scroll down or click here.

This larger address bar takes up more screen space so it is a good idea to maximize the screen size during your Open House to make the process as professional as possible.

If you see these square or rectangular looking boxes at the top of your Open House Sign-in Page there is an easy way to get rid of them.

These are Safari Tabs and show that you have other website pages currently open in the Safari Browser. To get some of the address bar space back, simply click on each open tab, then click the round 'X' on the left side of each tab to close it. Once all are closed except for the Open House Wizard Sign-in Page you will notice the address bar is back to its normal size.

Ipad Tips & Tricks - How to Run in FULL Screen

While using an Ipad for your Open House Sign-ins you may have noticed the address bar at the top in Safari gets in the way and detracts from the Open House Wizard Sign-in page

This larger address bar takes up more screen space so it is a good idea to maximize the screen size and go FULL Screen during your Open House to make the process as professional as possible.

If you see these address bars and tabs at the top of your Open House Sign-in Page there is an easy way to get rid of them all. This is basically a one-time thing, so you only have to do this once for any Open House Sign-in page that you would like to run full screen on your Ipad. We are using the black background sign-in page for this example.

1st of all, login to the Open House Wizard website and open the Ipad Open House Sign-in page that you would like to use, then tap or select the 'Share' icon at the top right of the screen that looks like an envelope with an arrow coming out of it

Then tap or select the 'Add to Home Screen' item which looks like a dark box with a plus sign in the middle

Then tap or select the 'Add ' link on the right of the 'add to home' box

You should now see the Open House Wizard Sign-in page icon on your Home Screen, just tap that icon whenever you wish to run an open house

Now when you run an Open House the Wizard's Sign-in page appears FULL screen on your IPAD, Yay! Remember if you want to change anything on the sign-in page, use the Login/Logout button on the left top of the sign-in page screen.

One important last note: If you encounter a login screen when using the Open House Wizard Sign-in page, make sure to check the 'Remember Me' box so you do not have to enter a password every time.

Notebooks, Laptops, PCs & Open Houses - How to Use any of those for Your Open House Sign-ins

If you'd like to use a Notebook, Laptop or PC for your Open House Sign-ins, here is how to use it successfully at the Open House.

Open House Wizard can run on pretty much any platform, Windows, Apple IOS, Android, Chrome and more. As long as you have an Internet or Data connection and a browser.

So - 1st of All, you need a data or Internet connection. If your Notebook/Laptop or large tablet has built-in data service from a carrier such as Verizon, Sprint or any other then you are good to go. If not, check out our Internet Connection help on the left for information on how you can get a data/wifi or Internet connection on your device.

Notebooks, Laptops & Larger Screen Devices - Tips & Tricks - Remove the Top & Bottom Bars

While using a Notebook, Laptop, PC or Larger Screen Devices such as an Android Tablet for your Open House Sign-ins you may have noticed there is an address bar at the top & for some devices such as Windows devices a Taskbar at the bottom of the screen.

These top & bottom bar take up screen space and may be distracting to Open House Visitors while signing in, so it is a good idea to maximize the screen size during your Open House to make the process as professional as possible.

You can make the top bar and lower bar totally disappear so all you see is the Open House Sign-In Page. In most Windows browsers (IE, Firefox and Chrome) you simply do this by pressing the F11 key. If that does not work, try a google search for your exact browser and the key words would be full-screen mode or remove address bar (the top bar) and/or taskbar (the bottom bar in Windows).

Above is what the Open House Sign-In Page would look like after pressing the F11 key. To go back seeing the upper and lower bars again just press F11 again.

Android Tablets & Open Houses - How to Use one for Your Open House Sign-ins

You may be asked to verify items. This is just for security.

You may notice that there are two gray buttons on the top left and bottom left of the screen. The Login / Logout button at top left will allow you to logout at the end of your open house, or it will also allow you to login to see your Account Page. This could be useful if you want to change something on the Open House Sign-In Page. You can change the color scheme, the Welcome text as well as the Logo or Image used on the Open House Sign-In Page from the Account Page.

The Open House Wizard Sign-In Page needs an Internet or Data Connection to Send its Leads 'Live' to Your CRM or Email...

If you do not have a built-in Internet or Data Connection on your Ipad/Notebook/Android Tablet or other device, then let's explore different ways you can 'create' your own Internet Connection at your Open House

Method One - This is the most simple, if your Open House's Owner has Wifi Internet available, just get the password to connect ahead of time from the homeowner

What if they don't want to share??! Then let's move on to Method Two ...

Method Two - Setup your own 'Wifi Hotspot' using your Smartphone - Here is how to do that

Many smartphones have this capability built-in, so we'll discuss setting this up with the two most popular smartphones - the Iphone & the Android Phone (such as Samsung)

Android Instructions - (Information from Lifewire.com click for the full article)

  • Turn On The Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot Feature on Your Android Smartphone or Tablet

So, if you aren't restricted from using the Wi-Fi hotspot feature on your Android device, this is how to enable it and share your mobile data plan:

    1. Go to Settings on your Android phone. You can get there by pressing the menu button on your device when you're on the home screen, then tapping "Settings".
    2. At the Settings screen, tap the "Wireless & networks" option.
    3. You should see an option for "Portable Wi-Fi hotspot". Click the check mark beside it to turn on the hotspot and your phone will start acting like a wireless access point. (You should see a message in the notification bar when it's activated.)
      • To adjust and check the settings for the hotspot, tap the aptly named "Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings" option. You'll need to do this if you don't know the default password that will be created for your hotspot so you can make a note of it for connecting your other devices.
      • You can change the default password, security level, router name (SSID), and also manage users connected wirelessly to your phone in the Wi-Fi hotspot settings.

Find and Connect to the New Wi-Fi Hotspot Created

    1. From each of the other devices you want to share Internet access with, find the Wi-Fi hotspot; this will probably be done automatically for you. (Your computer, tablet, and/or other smartphones most likely will notify you that there are new wireless networks to connect to. If not, on another Android phone, you'll find the wireless networks under Settings > Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi settings. See general Wi-Fi connection instructions for most computers.
    2. Finally, establish the connection by entering in the password you noted above.

      Tips and Considerations

      • Make sure you turn off the Wi-Fi hotspot feature when you no longer need shared Internet access from the other devices, since this can drain your cell phone's battery significantly.
      • By default, the portable Wi-Fi hotspot will most likely be set up with WPA2 security and a generic password. If you're using this feature in a public place or concerned about hackers trying to intercept your data, it's best to change the password to something else before broadcasting your signal.
      • Keep in mind again that your cell phone company might charge extra for this feature and/or have data restrictions on its usage, so make sure you check your plan or with your carrier for more information.

Iphone Instructions - (Information from Lifewire.com click for the full article)

Turn on the Personal Hotspot Option in the iPhone

  1. Go to the Settings screen on the iPhone.
  2. At the Settings screen, tap the "General" then "Network".
  3. Tap the "Personal Hotspot" option then "Wi-Fi Password".
  4. Enter in a password. This makes sure other (unauthorized) devices can't connect to your network. The password has to be at least eight characters long (a mix of letters, numbers, and punctuation).
  5. Slide the Personal Hotspot switch to on to make your iPhone now discoverable. Your phone will start acting like a wireless access point with the network name as your iPhone's device name.

Find and Connect to the New Wi-Fi Hotspot Created

  1. From each of the other devices you want to share Internet access with, find the Wi-Fi hotspot; this will probably be done automatically for you. (Your computer, tablet, and/or other smartphones most likely will notify you that there are new wireless networks to connect to.) If not, you can go to the wireless network settings on another phone or device to see a list of networks to connect to and find the iPhone. For Windows or Mac, see general Wi-Fi connection instructions.
  2. Finally, establish the connection by entering the password you noted above.

Tips and Considerations

Macbook Pro & Mac Tips & Tricks - How to Run in FULL Screen

While using a Macbook Pro, or any Apple Mac device for your Open House Sign-ins you may have noticed the address bar at the top in Safari gets in the way and detracts from the Open House Wizard Sign-in page

This larger address bar takes up more screen space so it is a good idea to maximize the screen size and go FULL Screen during your Open House to make the process as professional as possible.

Very simply, you need to maximize your Safari Browser's screen. To do this click the upper right arrow on the top right of the browser window.

You may notice that there are tabs with other webpages you may have been viewing showing on your browser window, so we need to remove those extra tabs also.

To do so, click the 'x' on the left side of each tab to close them, leaving only the tab with your open house sign in page showing. After that the tabs bar will disappear.

One important last note: If you encounter a login screen when using the Open House Wizard Sign-in page, make sure to check the 'Remember Me' box so you do not have to enter a password every time.

If You Have a Tablet, Use an External Keyboard & Mouse

At your Open House you need to make the Visitor Sign-In process as effortless as possible. You also want to appear to the visitors as a the Savvy Real Estate Pro that your are, who does things the right way. No clunky paper sign-in sheets here!

So then why have people sign-in on your Ipad or Tablet using the onscreen touch keyboard? Talk about clunky, it hides half the screen and does not make the sign-in process smooth. Shell out the couple of bucks and get an external Ipad or Tablet keyboard. Many also have a mouse trackpad built-in. Logitech is one of the numerous manufacturers of add-on keyboards for Ipads and Tablets. To find them just google Ipad or Tablet keyboards.

Use your CRM's APP (or web login) to view your Open House Sign-Ins as they happen LIVE.

If your CRM has an App or allows a website login to manage your contacts you can use the App or website on your smartphone to view the Open House Sign-Ins as they happen.

This is a great thing for many reasons, 1st of all it allows you to add your own comments to these new contacts live while the Open House is happening. For another it shows the contact's name. Sometimes you may not even have a visitors name before they sign in at your Open. This can be helpful in many ways and can be used as a great icebreaker to greet them by name after they sign in.
